Final Training within the HEAL Project – Higher Education for All

This week, the final training session of the Higher Education for All: Learning Environments Built on Trauma-Informed Teaching and Communication (HEAL) project is taking place in Novo Mesto, Slovenia. Hosted by the University of Novo mesto, Faculty of Health Sciences, this closing event brings together project partners to evaluate the training program and guidelines developed for teaching and communicating with students who have experienced trauma.

Building Inclusive, Trauma-Informed Learning Environments

The HEAL project aims to support higher education professionals in creating trauma-informed learning environments that foster inclusion, empathy, and academic success for all students. By raising awareness of trauma-sensitive teaching and providing practical tools, HEAL contributes to making universities more supportive and equitable spaces for learning.Over the past two years, the HEAL partnership has united institutions from across Europe to jointly develop educational materials, practical tools, and evidence-based guidelines that help university teachers and other higher education professionals apply trauma-informed approaches in their daily work.

The project has been coordinated by the National University of Science and Technology POLITEHNICA Bucharest (Romania), with the following partners:

University of Novo mesto, Faculty of Health Sciences (Slovenia)

Trinity College Dublin (Ireland)

The University of Ioannina (Greece)

EQUALINE (Greece)

Association for Social Economy and Lifelong Learning (Romania)

The HEAL project concludes in October 2025 and has been implemented under the KA220-HED – Cooperation Partnerships in Higher Education – Call 2023 Round 1 (Project number: 2023-1-RO01-KA220-HED-000167223).

With a total budget of EUR 250,000.00, the project is co-funded by the European Commission and the European Union.
