HEAL Final Conference

The HEAL Final Conference marked the culmination of a collaborative journey dedicated to promoting trauma-informed teaching and communication in higher education. Held in Romania, the conference brought together project partners, higher education professionals, stakeholders, and representatives from the wider academic and social sector to reflect on the project’s achievements and share its key results. Participants revisited the project’s core mission of building more inclusive, supportive, and responsive learning environments, while discussing how HEAL’s tools, resources, and methodologies can continue to benefit institutions and students beyond the project’s lifetime.

During the event, partners presented the main project outputs, including the gap assessment findings, the training curriculum, the online courses, and the digital learning platform. These presentations highlighted how research, consultation, and collaborative development were translated into practical educational resources for higher education professionals. The conference also provided space for dialogue on the challenges and opportunities related to mental health and well-being in academic settings, encouraging participants to exchange experiences and good practices. Through panel discussions and open sessions, attendees explored ways to integrate trauma-informed approaches into everyday teaching, student support services, and institutional policies.

The Final Conference also served as an important moment of recognition and appreciation for the strong partnership that shaped HEAL. Representatives from Romania, Slovenia, Greece, Ireland, and other partner countries reaffirmed their commitment to continued cooperation and knowledge sharing. The hosting organisation, National University of Science and Technology POLITEHNICA Bucharest, expressed sincere thanks to all partners for their dedication, professionalism, and consistent collaboration throughout the project implementation. This collective effort ensured that HEAL’s results are grounded in diverse perspectives and real institutional needs.

Overall, the HEAL Final Conference concluded the project on a strong and forward-looking note. By bringing together research insights, educational innovation, and professional experience, the event confirmed the relevance and sustainability of HEAL’s outcomes. It also reinforced a shared commitment to supporting student well-being and strengthening inclusive practices in higher education, ensuring that the project’s impact continues to grow within and beyond the partner institutions.
